Josh Penner

Founder & Writer

Started this site to write the kind of race coverage worth reading after the lights go out — the strategy, the penalties nobody explains well, and the championship math that actually matters.

How This Site Came Together

A short timeline
EARLY 2026

The idea

Frustrated by shallow race coverage online, started drafting recaps as a personal habit before turning it into a public site.

SEASON START

First published recap

Covered the Australian Grand Prix season opener — the first of what's now eleven rounds of published analysis.

MID-SEASON

Going deeper

Recaps expanded beyond results to cover strategy calls, championship math, and the storylines that shape a season.

NOW

This redesign

A full rebuild of the site — built to make the archive easier to browse and the writing easier to dig into.

Why this site exists

Most F1 coverage online is either a copy-paste of the press release or a hot take with no follow-through. This journal aims to sit in between: clear-eyed recaps, breaking news explained with actual context, and the occasional deep dive into strategy or sim racing data.

No sponsorships, no paywall, no team affiliation — just a fan who watches every session and writes it up properly.
