A dominant performance from Max and strategy blunders by the Scuderia.

The Marina Bay circuit hosted the annual Singapore Grand Prix, which is infamous for being the greatest physical challenge for the drivers. In recent years, the Singapore GP has also been the greatest physical challenge for the viewer at home, trying to stay awake through it due to the lack of overtakes and incidents.

This year Singapore was a sprint weekend, so the teams were left to cope with just the one practice session, which made the sprint quite entertaining. The drivers had to battle changing conditions in the sprint, with standing water on the track for the majority of it. Qualifying was exciting, and the race was slightly less intriguing, especially on the overtaking front.

The main story was the resurgence of Red Bull and Max taking the first Singapore GP win of his career. But as a Ferrari fan, this was overshadowed by the horrible strategy decisions made not only by the Ferrari pit wall but also by Lewis Hamilton himself, who made the decisive call to stay out under the VSC, which dropped him from a potential podium all the way back to P6.

A wet-to-dry Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia brought action to every part of Sunday's race.

I've ranked it an 8.8, making it the best race of the new 2026 regulations so far. It was the first rain-affected race of the season, and it did not disappoint: decisive strategy calls, changing conditions and a circuit that promotes close racing all came together on Sunday.

As a Ferrari fan, I was close to turning the race off in the opening laps after both drivers dropped to the back of the field. But the Ferraris impressed as they climbed back up the order, and there was action everywhere else on track too. A late safety car only added to the chaos, letting everyone pit for fresh rubber and bunching up the gaps at the front.

Then came a 2016-esque engine failure for George Russell's Mercedes, a flashback to the moment Lewis Hamilton lost his grip on the title to teammate Nico Rosberg, at this very circuit. When the race resumed, Hamilton rose to a podium with a brilliant move on Red Bull's Isack Hadjar. He'd stalked him down for laps earlier in the race on the soft tyres fitted at the start, while Hadjar had pitted for his softs at least 10 laps later. Charles followed his teammate past the Red Bull to claim P4, right behind the Brit.

This race puts an almost iron seal on Antonelli's title bid. To conclude, I think we can all agree that Malaysia deserves a permanent spot on the calendar over a track like the Madring, which was a complete snoozefest.

The streets of Baku gave us another chaotic race — with pockets of boredom in between.

As a Formula 1 fan living in Canada, this was a race I had to fight to keep my eyes open for — not because it was all that boring, but because the start was 5am local time. As a devout Ferrari fan, I found the race bland and disappointing. Putting the neutral cap on, though, it was a decent race for a tight street circuit.

Kimi fought through to recover to P5, while George and Max had a drag race to the chequered flag. The race had its share of iconic moments too — two separate incidents of teammates clashing on safety car restarts. First Colapinto went bowling into Turn 1, taking out both his own teammate Pierre Gasly and reigning champion Lando Norris. Then rookie Arvid Lindblad sent his Kiwi teammate Liam Lawson spinning and out of the points.

Overall, I found the race good — but as a Ferrari fan, I can't justify anything over a 7.8.

My Rules

1. Monaco starts at a 5.0 cap. It has to fight for every point above that like everywhere else.

2. A race decided by a Safety Car or VSC rather than genuine on-track overtaking loses half a point, no matter how tense the finish felt.

3. Nothing scores above a 9.0 without me being able to say why in one sentence.

4. A real comeback story — injury return, grid penalty recovery, a seat-cover driver outperforming expectations — earns bonus credit. The story counts, not just the lap times.
